' ' ; PACK TWO PRESIDENT GLAD , - GERMANS SIGNED Says Trade With Associated Nations Should Be Rcsumed at Once TonnDC vuii i NOT IIIV/VSI VI It k_!_ w BE WITHDRAWN YET Germany Must First Comply With All Terms of the Peace Treaty. i Washington. ? President Wilson, conferring with newspaper correspondents at the White House indicated that he was extremely gran- j fied that the treaty of peace had been ratified so promptly by the German national assembly. The president also indicated that he felt trade relations between Germany and the associated nations should be resumed at the earliest moment possible, for without trade Ger-1 many could not meet the reparations j demanded of her. It was made clear that the presi- i dent felt troops should be maintained ! in Germany until the Germans have complied with all the military terms of the treaty. It was pointed out that there were several million veteran soldiers in Germany and munitions sufficient for them to operate. The Germans have from one to four months in which to deliver all materials except that sufficient for the reduced German army provided for in the peace treaty and the president believes American troops should stay on the Rhine until the material is delivered. Discussing the. peace negotiations at Paris, President Wilson let it be known that the league of nations covenant will be in every treaty nent Vnr?jiillos. includintr that with Bulgaria with which country the United States never was at war. In response to questions regarding the Fiume situation, the president pointed out that the treaty of London provided that Fiume was to go to Croatia and that Italy did not lay claim to the city when that treaty was signed. The president made it clear that demobilization of the American army would depend upon the speed with which the military conditions of the peace treaty were executed by Germany and the treaty was ratified by the various governments. MEMORIAL. On June lGth, 1919, the death angel came just as the sun set and took Mrs. Dora Todd to live with God. She was 53 years and 9 months old. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist church and a Christian, a gocd kind and loving mother, and a good neighbor and friend to every one. She leaves seven children, 3 sons and four daughters, all of whom were with her. She leaves a mother and <jpvArjil irivLnd children and countless relatives and friends, but why should we mourn when she was ready to go? She has felt for a long time that God would call her this June, and as the fever burned her brow she would pray God to take her away where typhoid could never go. She begged her children and friends not to mourn for her as she was going to rest. As we stood by her bed and touched and rubbed her toil-woin hands that had done so many deeds of kindness it was hard, hard to give her up, but we feel it is better so as God never makes mistakes. We shall meet but we shall miss her, there will be one vacant chair and oh, the aching void within our hearts that can never more be filled. We will miss her as long as life shall la^t for she was so good and kind. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. S. M. Todd. She was laid away in the Poplar cemetery by the side of her husband and children who had gone on before. ?One Who Always Loved Her. ' ft o "Cold la the Head" Is an acuto attack of Nasal Catarrh. L jl. * LIFT BLOCKADES BUT FACING WAR Allied Peace Commissioners Still Faced With Fact That Hostilities Exist Paris.?While the signal for resuming' peace time relations with German hail been given, allied peace Commissioners faced the fact that hostilities still formed a cause of European political and military concern. At the same time the big five had begun issuing instructions for the cessation of the blockade against Germany, it was learned that the prospective campaign against the Hungarian Soviets would be followed by two campaigns against Pet.rograd. Intervention in Hungray by the Rumanians, Czecho-Slovaks and Jugo-Slavs was discussed yesterday by allied military representatives. As a result, Marshal Foch was collecting the data necessary to the inception of such an undertaking. While reports were awaited from the three nations chiefly concerned in the proposed attack, American i representatives were advised that Admiral Kolchak, head of the Omsk government, had asked the Finns to attack Petrograd simultaneously with him. The Bolshcviki, it was reported, have been forced to withdraw troops from other fronts for the purpose of defending Petrograd. This could be rushed in as soon as a 1 stable government was established.
