A CR E AG E INCH EASED.
There is not a doubt that the acreage
in tobacco will be greatly increased
in this county this year.
Many farmers who never tried tobacco
before in their experience intend
to Dlant from two to oirrtit
this year. These are the ones who
mod to go slowiy and be sure the y
are right as to each step they take
in the planting and cultivation an.,
also curing of the weed. It takes
e.; pericnce to learn how to make the
right kind of tobacco to bring a lab
pi ice at. any time. j
Many farmers who only planted a
few acres last year and the year before
will plant from ten to 1 if teen !
acres this year.

NKXT CRIMINAL COURT.
The next regular term of th*
Court of General Sessions as fixed
i by law will convene on Monday, May
| 2(>th, 1019, and there will be no more
criminal court unless a special term
of the Court should he ordered u>
i take place between now and then in
j order to be able to dispose of the
| great number of cases that have acI
cumulated. In conversation recently
the Clerk of the Court stated he
would favor the holding of a special
turn of the Criminal Court to begin
on Monday, May 19th. just one week
before the regular term on Monday,
May 20th, and to arrange it so that a
dillorcnt set of jurymen would be
summoned for each of the two weeks
to prevent the same jury having to
serve so long; and that he would
favor the publishing of which cases
would come up the first week 'and
which would come up the second ,
week so as to keep the witnesses and
parties having to stay here so long
waiting for the trials to come up.
Whether a special term will be ordered
is not yet known and if a spcc
al term is not called there will be j
