farming and the years are proving
this statement to be true.

The effort of the farmer should be
to get something ahead and thus be

in this county who will have to sign

Do not fall out with the man next
door for some fault that i/s really a
defect of human nature and which
man as a race cannot avoid.

wants to do and vet does not want
to do. He want, a job until he gets
one and then he don't want to fill it.

Much money is tied up in the effort
the farmers and business men
of this county are making- to hold the
cotton crop of 1918 for better prices.

It is a bad quality for a man or
woman to be too suspicious and distrustful
of others. It is a great loss
of time to be looking for trouble in
everything that is done around us.

While the farmers are holding the
la?*ge cotton crop of 1918, it would
seem to be unwise on their part to
plant too much of the staple this
year.

Some money will be needed to finance
the cotton crop of this year
unless the farmers can manage to
get better prices .and turn the money
out of the crop of 1918, before tho
1919 harvest comes along.

There is not much honor and very
little profit in many of the positions
of public trust these days; yet there
are plenty of men who are willing
to offer their services and stick tc
the job until the end.

No man can guarantee results because
no man knows; but we all believe
that prices of supplies will continue,
