O ' HAS COMMISSION ASTOSTMASTER Prof. Power W. Bethea received his commission as postmaster several days ago, signed by President Wilson and attested by A. S. Burleson as Postmaster General of the United States. The commission bears d^te on July 28rd, but runs from May 25th, 1918, when Mr. Bethea's duties began at the Conway postoffice. He has resigned as Superintendent of the Burroughs High School and recently sold his interest in Horry Publishing Company to Norton & Baker, who are now publishing the newspaper which he formerly edited. The new postmatser lias systematized the details of the large business carried on at the postoffice resulting in satisfaction to its patrons. The clerks now working at the postoffice are: Messrs. Enoch Allen, Burgess King, and Miss Mollie Jones. J. M. Dorman still fills the position of Assistant Postmaster and it i.said that he will continue to fill this position. The business of the Conway office has been steadily increasing during the last ten years. GROWS BEST WHEAT. The best yield of wheat this year J in the county is reported as having been made by P. M. Dorman who raised 18 1-2 bushels on a half-acre patch. The next best to Mr. Dorman was Mr. Hacks of the Pee Dee section on the Kason place. Mr. Hack grew 22 1-2 bushels to the acre. o Farmers Warehouse. The following good sales were made last week at Farmers Tobacc Warehouse: R. V. Lewis, 138 pounds at 42c; J. A. Johnson, 520 pounds at 41c; W. L. Martin, 360 pounds at 47c; W. (I. Ward, 215 pounds at 41c; E. M. John on, 408 pounds at 40c. o A W. (). W. IMC NIC.
