Washington.?Congress formally
disposed of the railroad control bill
today when the House agreed to the
conference report adopted by the
Senate yesterday. The bill now goes
to the President.
Plans for future organization of
the Government railroad administration
under the railroad control bill,
finally passed by Congress today,
.cere discussed tonight at a conference
between President Wilson and
Director-Genera I Mc Adoo.
One of the first big tasks will be
the making of contracts with the
railroad company for government
compensation on the basis provided
n the bill. Under the direction of
John Barton Payne, chief counsel,
John Skolton Williams, finance director,
and C. A. Prcuty, chief of the^
division >T accounts, the negotiation
of those contracts will be undertaken
immediately. It probably will take
many months to complete them.
