There was keen competition last
week at the fair among some of the
leading public schools of the county
for the biue ribbon which went to
the Poplar School. The Gurley
S Tiooi had a very fine exhibit and
many thought that the judges would
award the r. cdal to them; but is was
staled that individual specimens in
the Gurley schoo.l had been marked in j
some instances lor the people who had
niadt them up and not marked to the
school, hence the action ot' the judges,
lad the exhibits of both these
sc hools certainly phased many who I
visited the fair.
