it. After being served pink and whit<

cake was cut. This cake contained a
ring, a thimble and a piece of money.
In cutting it was found that Barbara
MeCaskill had the ring, Helen
McCoy the thimble, and Margaret
Bell the money.
The little friends of Alexander
Ui?i bade him good by and they wis!
him many more happy birthdays.

1917-18. "Come Thou Almighty
King" was sung as an opening hymn
followed by a scripture lesson read by '
Rev. J. M. Lemmon. Rev. E. L. MrCoy
lead in prayer.
Rev. D L Hill delivered ;an address
on the "How, What and Why of Life,"
thir. subject being ably handled by the
speaker and we think not only the
younger children, but tht grown-ups
might derive much good by following
hi;, advice.
Rev. Mr. Betts, father of our former
pastor, Rev. A. I>. Betts. made a
splendid talk, it being Rev. Betts*
first visit to cur town, ho spoke very
encouragingly of our town and s hool
and the bright prospects of the boys
and girN who attend the Burroughs
High School.
