TRACE DISEASE
TO CONSTIPATION
^ On* of the points on which
r . different schools of msdlclne practically
agree is, that about 95 of
nil human disease Is directly
traceable to intestinal putrefaction
of stomach waste due to inactivity
of the bowels, or constipation.
The oliminative process
in an essential factor In digestion
and on its proper functioning- depends
the welfare of the entire
system.
Constipation is a condition that
\should never be neglected. As
moon as the bowels evidence the
snrhtest disposition to slow up, a
mild laxative should he taken.
The combination of simple laxative
herbs with popsin, known as
F Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin and
sold in drug stores for fifty cents
a bottle, is highly recommended as
| a corrective, acting gently, in an
1 easy, natnval way, without grip4
lug or other pain or discomfort.
A trial bottle of this excellent
family remedy can be obtained,
free of charge, by writing to Dr.
W. B. Caldwell, 4pi Washington
St., Monticollo, Illinois.

a thrifty plant. After it is clean
ed, however, the seed should be treated
in order that the smut may he prevented.
Scab is less likly to be prevented
by seed treatment, but the use
of the fanning mill will assist materially
in improving the crop grown
from seed known to have contained
scabby kernels.
If the farmer is dependent on ou:side
sources for his seed he should bu >

advisable to buy as soon after harvest

If seed is effected by diseases, cave

fact. The presence of stinking smut
in wheat is indicated by the odor an I
the presence of scab by the appearance
of the kernels. Purchased seed
