at Gurley last Monday night. A
good audience was present and paid
marked attention to the addresses
which were delivered. Secretary L.
D. Magrath outlined the work of the
council and introduced Mr. Tolar B.'
Lewis, who made a thorough outline [
o the causes leading up to the wai

war. He was followed by H. Kemper
Cook, who said that he had decided ,
not to deliver a set speech but make a
heart to heart talk. His anneal
touched every one present. He urged
that Horry County should have no

Chairman, and Miss Mattie Mishoe,

is said to be rapidly superseding the
