London.?A vacancy in the Austrian
premiership may soon follow
the Hungarian premiership vacancy,
according to reports through Amsterdam.
Messages from Vienna says the
Central News correspondent at Amsterdam
in<licate that the rumors of
the resignation of Count Clum-Martinic
the Austrian premier, are so per
sictent that developments in this connection
are expected shortly. Count
von Coudenhove, the governor of Bohemia,
is mentioned as successor to
the present premier.
Two of the most likely candidates
Lr the Hungarian premiership in
succession to Count Tisza, apcording
to Vienna dispatcher quoting the
Newe Freie Presse are Dr. Alexander
Weckerie, a former Hungarian premier,
and Archduke Joseph. Both
Kese men, the newspaper comments,
have held aloof party strife and enjoy
the oonfidence of all parties as

Washington. ? Secretary McAdoo,

Senator H. L. Buck last week harvested
a large crop of as fine Irish
potatoes as ever grew in this section
of the country. Good judgment was
u.-ed not only in the planting and
cultivation of this crop, but in the
I harvesting and the grading of the potatoes
as they came from the ground.
For the first time in this immediate
section, machinery in the shape of a
potato grader was used in dividing
the potatoes into the different
grades. This c'\>p was shipped b.v
the "Mitchel C" from the landing al
Keysfield, and the crop will turn ou!
I a good profit.
A sample of the potatoes grown or
I this farm were brought to Conwaj
I last Thursday while the harvesting
was going on.
I Senator Buck planted about fort)
( acres and will harvest a total o!
about 1500 barrels from the crop.

Personally, I consider the source o
a.ything before having anything t
do with it, ar.d I would simply say
"Shoo fly, don't bodder me," but ?
occurs to me andr must be apparen4
to all fair minded people, that th<
prime object of these contemptible
cowards are in an indirect way, t<
create a strong sentiment against the
war department in order to keep the
boys at home, and thus try to embarrass
the administration.
I can truthfully say that durinp
the whole time I attended the Burroughs
High School at Conway and
Horry Industrial School that the entire
faculty had every- confidence it
me, and I gave them no trouble.
As the "dipping vats" are about
ready, I would suggest that the "busy
bodies" referred to above, be dipped
from time to time along with the tick
infested cattle in order to cleans*
their tongue's, and then be sent to v

BEAUTIFY THE SKIN j
Make this beauty lotion cheap-1

At the cost of a small jar of ordinary
cold cream one can prepare i*
full quarter pint of the most wonderful
lemon skin softener and complexion
beautifier, by squeezing the juic<
of two fresh lemons into a bottle containing
three ounces of orchard j
white. Care should be taken to strain
the juice through a fine cloth so no
lemon pulp gets in, then this lotion
will keep fresh for months. Every
woman knows that lemon juice is
used to bleach and remove such blemishes
as freckles, sallownesft and tan
and is the ideal skin softener, whiten,
or and beautifier.
Just try it! Get three ounces of
orchard white at any drug store and j
two lemons from the grocer and make
up a quarter pint of this sweetly fragrant
lemon lotion and massage it
daily into the face, neck, arms and
hands. It is marvelous to smoothen
