Why is war anyway ? o Nature tends to bring things out in the right way. o Cleanliness is appreciated by even those who are unclean. o Some people never can appreciate1 their blessings until those blessing^ have taken flight. o The sunshine is never appreciated | so much as on cloudy days. (i Let the farmers n'an to get out of J debt and then stay rut of debt. This would be one of the greatest things | for them that ever happened in this country. ? o Scandal is a sweet morsel to roll under the tongue when it does not involve us, 01 somebody near to us. When it concerns us it is a bitter pill. o There is a purpose for everything; except tlie idle talk that you heatso many men indulge in instead of spending their time in useful employment of some kind. Be sure you are right before going ahead. Sometimes it is too late to' turn back in order to try to correct a mistake. o Some times we regret what we do and also regret what we do not do. We all make mistakes, as we go *ilong through life, and if we are wise we will strive from day to day to correct the mistakes we make. o A good rule to follow is not to say anything behind a man's back that vnn wnnhl nnt willin<y ht i*r? peat to his face. o? Lot the farmers of Horry County endeavor more than ever to pet their business affairs on such a basis that they can live this year on what they produced and saved last year. So many of them have to live this year on what they hope to make this year, that they never know just where they are until in the Fall, and then they can find out to their sorrow that they ''have not produced en&tjgfi to pay what they owe on the ciopfi and, they; are forced to give a mortgage on ' something to secure their unpaid debts. It is a bad state of affairs. COPY SUMMONS FOR RELIEF (Complaint Not Served.> STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, County of Horry. Court of Common Pleas. J. R. Allsbrook and N. B. In eyery family there is more 01 less occasion for a laxative remedy. It is to meet this need that Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is prepared, and that this combination of simple laxative hrebs with pepsin fulfills its purpose is proven by its place in thousands of American homes. Prof. Pv J. C. Hertzog, the well known linguist, 2341 North Orianna St., Philadelphia, Pa., < wrote to Dr. Caldwell that he has used Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin in his household with excellent results and that he and his family consider it indeed a friend in need, and always keep a bottle of it on hand. Constipation is the direct cause of much serious illness and is a condi tion that should never be neglected. Harsh cathartics and violent purgatives should never be employed tf relieve constipation, because the very violence of their action sshocks tin entire system. A mild laxative, such as Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is preferable, being mild and gentle in its action, without griping or other; pain or discomfort; its freedom from LOCALS FROM I,ORIS.
