CONWAY CITIZENS I
WANTROAD MOVED
There is not a citizen of Conway
who does not realize that the trains
of the Atlantic Coast Line passing
daily over the main street of the
town, creates a nuisance since the
town has grown larger. Years ago
when the town was small and the
people were -glad ?to gpt a railroad no
matter where; the tracks should be
laid, this did n6t matter; it is now
a different proposition. , v?
Since the property of the railroad
is located there, it looks hard to require
them to move it without induce
merit, or compensation of some kind
for their loss and trouble. It is believed
that if the rights of way were
offered free to the Atlantic Coast
Line so that they could come in with
I their tracks through the western
suburbs, that the company would
move the tracks to the new location
without any further protest concerning
the change.
Since the people are interested in
getting the road moved and in some
manner that would be satisfactory to
the owners of the railroad, a citizens
I meeting should be culled and a committee
appointed to negotiate for the
rights of way. Those who would
refuse to give the land for the rights
of way under the circumstances
would be acting foolishly, as the road
in that section of the town would bc?
a*i improvement which would raise
the value of all the holdings.
