MRS MARLOW CALLED
TO HER REWARD
Mrs. L. H. Marlow passed away at
her home near Holder last Wednesday
at 12:45 o'clock.
She did not reach her three score
years and ten, but after suffering the
tortures of a cancer of the mouth for
three long years, she was caiied
home at the age of 56 years, 3
months and 22 days, having bean
born in Williamsburg county, S. C.,
June it), 1860, and died October 11,
1916.
She came with her family to Florida
in 1883.
At the age of twenty years she
united with the Baptist church and
had been a devout follower of the
Lord Jesus Christ not only during
the sunny part of her life but also
through the days of sickness and j
3ther trouble. Her life was not all ,
sunshine for she had seen three
grown children laid away in the
cemetery at Newberry, Florida,
vhere she, too, found her last resting
dace.
So faultless was her life that she r
lumbered her friends by her ae- *
juaintances for no one who knew ^
Mrs. Marlow could have an ill ^
bought of her. The long months of v
mffering she bore with the same
:hristian spirit which so characterzed
her life, never fretting, never
omplaining. ?.
She fully realized thut her time on ^
:arth was limited and the last two *
vceks of her life she spent in almost *
onstant prayer that God would see *
'it to take her out of her misery.
Through IKe long years of suffering
Mrs. Marlow found a most tender,
oving, ever-ready and over-anxious ,
nurse in her devoted husband to (
whom she had been the constant com- <
pan ion for thirtv-eivht vears. nlwavs
sharing his* sorrows and his joys.
Her great love for him and her
confidence in his ability to take care
of her were made manifest by thefact
that one of her last requests
was that he walk and lead the horse
that carried her lifeless body from
her home to the train. How gVand is
such devotion!
Mr. Mallow in this, his darkest
hour, when he is crushed with sorrow
has such sweet consolation in the
thought that in her dying moments

I tenderly dressed her in the clothes,
she without the knowledge of anyone
else, had months previously so
thoughtfully prepared, thus saving
her family the sad duty of preparing
her burial robes.
Besides her immediate family Mrs.
Marlow is survived by one brother,
who was too feeble to be with his
'; sister in her last moments.
