OBITUARY.
Mr. Clabourn Lee Fields of Homewood,
S. C., died Thursday A. M., October
5th, 191(?, following a few days
of serious illness at the age of sixteen
years. His death was a sv.dden
shock to Mi his friends and uc
[ tonees, and especially to the pupils
I of Homcwocd School, where he was
attending school.
The funeral services was conducted
by his favorite minister, Kov.
McCoy, of the Methodist church ol
Conway, S. C., and shortly after\v*!ir<ls

the Thompson cemetrey.
The popularity of the young man
was readily seen by the large crowd
in attendance at the funeral and the
intense sadness shown by all present.
I Toney was a hoy of unusual prominence,
bright, cheerful, and was loved
bv all who knew him, and everv
thing possible was done to keep him
with us. Thanks to Drs. Dusenbury
and Burroughs fro their able service.
But the loving Father, who doeth all
things well, saw fit to take him unto
Himself, in order that his young life
could unfold in all its richness amid
the glories of Heaven.
May the Holy Comforter solace
the grief stricken family.
Mr. Fields was born in North Carolina,
but for the past 5 or (5 years
has lived in and near Homewood,
where he was a faithful member of
both church and Sunday school, both
of which has lost a liberal supporter
of all its institutions.
We extend to the bereaved family
our deepest sympathy and point
them to the Father of mercy and
the God of all comfort.
