M. Mi mm STATES PLATFORM IN DETAIL /* Not Sufficient Time at Camxffl" MjP lor Fu" , 8am X , i ?? To the V?fl??rs of Horry County: 3^[o? hfcv my piatio in in v .c campaign I sub mit tr.c following; :? T'st&fid first, second, th1 u, l&fet a; . ail the time for strict economy inj siate and county adminiiti ation, un-' ; like the present, which in my judgment, has been extravagant. 1 am ? opposed to the creation of new offices vor the raising of salaries, which, it seems, has been one of the policies of the present administration. I favor the reduction of tobacco warehouse charges, which I have always* stcoci for. T favor the perfecting, and th. proper application 01 the new county government road law. ^ favored th' abolition of the county supervisor'! office, when this new law was iaitlat ? 6dt together with, the election of th township supervisors as li st s'.atca in. the new law. I also favored in th< initiative law, six days work on roaJr y, ' or seventy five cents per day commit flit ion. lifit tin-' nf'inr rrpmhovc would not agree. As I formerly have voted I stand for the graduated tax on automobiles to help improve the roads generally throughout the county. I stand for, and nave voted, for bier, nial sessions of the legislature, whici can be accomplished by constitution;!' amendment. My opponent says it will require a constitutional e nvontion. As has always been known I stand for improved schools in the rural districts, where ninety per cent of the people obtain their only education. As before I stand for free antitoxin for diptheria, free vaccine for typhoid, free anti-hog cholera serum, and free pharmogerm for the inoculation of seed. I stand for six per cent interest law and two cent flat rate on railroads in the interest of the masses. In fact, I stand for ali measures that will bring the most good to the greatest number of people. My purpose for entering the race was in the interest of the farming classes as they constitute about nineA.. /: i. .r i.L i - . r 11- - ty nve percent 01 tne people ?i mc county and should select men from their ranks to serve them. It hds been charged by my opponent that two years ago I announced for the "House" which is a mistake. I however, bei(ng present on the last day of the filing of pledges, found that there were no pledge filed except those of Messrs. Singleton and Baker, both lawyers. In the interest of the farmer, notwithstanding my piomise made the people two years before that I would not offer again for the House if elected that year, 1 WE SELL IT No more CREDIT, i Come to - our store DENTIAL cash pric put them in print. \ FOR CASH, hence Good lard less t] 50c under the mark than $1.60 sack, 1 * pie tobacco less tha the box, and a lot o even lower prices. B. STflf !U M Si' ... . v . U: did file my pledge to run again in the event that no farmers should of-., for to rurv at thisv time. But before the time closed for filling pledges,! Messrs. Jackson and Mishoe, farm-' ers, filed their pledges. This gave me a chance to vote for farmers which has always been my policy. But still my opponent accuses me of withdrawing at that time, in an effort to dodge the road law, which is untrue, since 1 helped pass this very same law. Through the whole campaign my opponent charges weakness and inability at my hands, and a 'laughing stock." when it . is knqyr^ by all the people, that I made honorable record.* This ,1 ftylid ptth; ; Jtntiate by every memtfer of the Legislature during my term of office, ir'uch criticism, persecution, and vituperations should be condemned by ill good citizens and in righteous indignation they should rise against it I am uncompromisingly opposed tc the low plane upon which my opponent wages his campaign, as he seeks ... crush virtue?this is clearly man hsted. 'i 1 ' t hoped to have waged a camping * en a high level, but through th' slanderous criticisms it has bee laced far below my idcnlc, I hut .he people will study their interest and on the twenty-ninth of August decide who should be state senator, : farmer and teacher, interested in a!, that pertains to the prorr^s of th ommon wealth, or a banker.
