In the lower part of town on a vacant.
lot belonging to Mr. J. A. McDermott
is a large road roller weighing
several tons, and which would
take a half dozen mules to budge it.
Nobody claims this piece of machinery.
It is said that it came here
during the administration of John L.
Boyd as county supervisor, a road
machinery company having sent it
here to be sold to the county upon
approval and the county board refused
to take it. It is now an encumbrance
and as it has rusted and
become much delapidatcd, it is an
eyesore which wiil cost a lot of inonc;
to remove.

Crops in this section are in had
shape since the high wind of last s
Friday swept over the fields, leaving 1
corn, cotton, tobacco, etc., leaning to 1
the ground and in many cases broken. <
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. ;
Ed. Huggins died last Friday night
near this place. This child had been
sick for several weeks. The bereaved
parents have the sympathy of a
host of friends.
The recent heavy rains have the
river here on the swell again, and the
roads in many places are almost impassable.
Mr and Mrs W. R. Barrett, and Mr
and Mrs. J. A. Holdren with Mr. and
Mrs. C. B. Ham, all of Florence, and
travelling in one Studebaker and one
Cadillac, came over here on the 10th,
and passed what seemed to be a real \

NOT ENOUGH CHILDREN
ever receive the proper balance of food
to sufficiently nourish both body and
bmiu during the growing period when
nature's demands are greater than in
mature life. This is shown in so many
pale faces, lean bodies, frequent colds,
and lack of ambition.
For all such child?en we say with
unmistakable earnestness: They need
Scott's Emulsion, and need it now. It
possesses in concentrated form the very
food elements to enrich their blood. It
changes weakness to strength; it mAkes
them sturdy and strong. No alcohol.

here in Conway. People who testified
years ago to relief from backache, kid
ney and urinary disorders, now give
confirmed testimony?declare the remits
have lasted. How can any Conway
sufferer longer doubt the evidence
?
Mrs. Dora Burroughs, Burroughs
St., Conway, says: "I was subject to (
dull, naggaing backaches, pains
across my kidneys and other symptoms
of kidney complaint. I got
Doan's Kidney Pills at the Norton 1
Drug Co., and used them as directed, j
They relieved me of the backache, cor j
rected the action of my kidneys and
benefitted me generally." (State- j
ment given January 5, 1910.)
OVER FOUR YEARS LATER, Mrs
Burroughs said: "I have had no occas- f
ion to use Doans Kidney Pills for 1
some time, as the cure they gave me 1
has been lasting." i
