IN LOVING RLMEMUKANCE.
On June 8, 1916, death cla.mcd foi
its own Mrs. Mary Alien. ?>i?e wa^
sick about 21 days bearing her sick
Hess with the greatest of patienc..
Oh! how hard it was to give her up
but the good Lord knew best ano
took her to that bright and happy
home where there will be no moresorrow
nor pain. All was done tor
her that loving hands, kind hearts
aif&'V jgooa p.fy&lci&ii, Dr. Richardson,
could d6 hitt ciuld not stay the icy
hands of death.
Our Heavenly Father knew that
Mary hud stayed here in this cole
world lon^ enough and took her to
live with ,.i:n. Early in life, she was
marri'. . to Mr. i\i. G. Allen and was
eve* the loving wife and mother of
f .v children. She leaves a mother,
five brothers, two sisters, five children,
a loving husband, and a host of
sorrowing relatives and friends to
mourn her death, but while we mourn
we feel sure it is her eternal gain.
Gone beyond the midst of shadows,
Gone where trials all are over,
Gone where sin can never enter,
Gone into the Golden Shore.
Sleep on dear Mary
And take thy rest,
God called you hone,
He thought it best.
A precious one from earth has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in that home
Which never can be filled.
Look up ye heavey hearted,
Look up and trust your King,
His dear pnes are protected
Beneath His shadowing wing.

RESOLUTIONS, APPRECIATION
AND SYMPATHY
From the Conway Methodist Sunday
School.
Whereas our gracious Heavenly
Father in His all-wise and loving |
providence has called unto Himself
Brantley Burroughs, one of our most |
loyal and devoted members, and
Whereas our young friend's pune- j
lu.iity, cheerfulness, and eflicieney
i 1 the performance of every duly
won for him the highest esteem ol
hi.-; teachers, and
Whereas his frank, manly conduct
was an inspiration to his many
friends, and
Whereas his faith in Christ, public
!y declared a year before his death
".ever wavered, but rather grew to
ward a fixed principle of life and
bore fruit in an almost unblemishtn
character.
Therefore he it resolved: That w<
the ollicers, teachers, and members
of the Conway Methodist Sunday
School, while feeling most keenly tne
loss we have sustained, bow in reverent
and humble submission to thei
will of our Heavenly Father.
i *
I That we extend to the bereaved
parents and little sisters our fullest
Christian sympathy.
That a copy of those resolutions be
given each of the local papers for
publication, that a copy he sent to the
bereaved parents, and that a copy be
written into the permanent records of
this Sunday School.

FLOOD DAMAGE MAY
BE OVERESTIMATED
The Alabama river began falling
at Montgomery ant! the flood situation
everywhere in the South was
distinctly improved. The river still
was reported rising at Selma, but was
expected to recede soon.
No further damage from flood
expected anywhere in Alabama unless
more rain falls. The heavy down
pour yesterday x.t. Clanton appears to
have been local, and has not affected
the Alabama.
Farmers are "hopeful that the damago
to crops will not be as great as
estimated, although indications are
that it will be large. Apparently, all
flood sufferers have been cared for as
no further reports of destitution have
come from the flooded region.
Weather bureau reports today indicated
that the Carribean Sea disturbance,
reported yesterday, had
moved slightly westward and was
central this morning near and south
of Porto Rico. Its intensity was still
unknown.
