V* " ^ " mm w * ' cors of the Second infantry. The troops had all readied Camp Styx b> 11 o'clock. Immediately after arrival, the men were put to work .erecting the tents. The Charleston batallion, 333 met: strong arrived at the Columbia union station this morning at 10:45 o'clock by the Atlantic Coast Line, 45 minutes ah.ead of time. The trip to Columbia was made without accident 'Col. H. B. Springs, commanding the Second regiment, was aboard the special. Companies of the Second Infantry from Sumter and Timmonsvillo arrived a few minutes after the Charleston special. Shortly after 11 o'clock, the specia' bearing the Charleston Light Dragoons arrived. A score of recruits joined the Dragoons in Columbia and proceeded with them to Styx Columbia Apathetic. The Governor's Guards marched silently through Main street this morning from their armory to the union station. Not one cheer went up from th? curious crowd along Main street. Little attention has been paid to the men of the National Guard in the capital. However, the men appreciate the receptions given in other .sections of the State. The Atlantic Coast Line special this morning was in charge of Thomas E. Meyers, district passenger agent, Charleston. Expect to Move Soon It is the opinion in military circles that the South Carolina regiments will be sent to the Mexican border as soon as they are whipped into shape. 'The hard drilling will commence, very probably Monday morning. Governor Manning, as commanderin-chief of the State troops, will spend tomorrow in camp with the troops. Major P. J. Drew, chief quartermaster, has resigned. More Men Needed There are approximately 2,000 men and officers now quartered at Styx. D. and extending a waterworks system for said Town of Conway $10,000 Electors will have tlie privilege of casting their ballots for or against bonds for all or either of aforesaid purposes.. Tne polls will be opened at Town Hall at 8 o'clock A. M. and closed at 1 o'clock P. M. Four separate boxes will be provided for use, properly labeled, one for each separate proposition and one for Commissioner of Public Works. The ballots may be written or printed, but printed ballots will be furnished at the polls. Each ballot shall have written or printed thereon the purpose for or against which it is cast, for example: 1. Bonus, $10,000, for Town Hall, "Yes." Bonds, $10,000. for Town Hall, "No." 2. Bonds, $20,000, Sewerage System, "Yes." Bonds, $20,000, Sewerage System, "No." 3. Bonds, $10,000, Waterworks Sys* tem, "Yes." Bonds, $10,000, Waterworks System, "No." Ballots "Yes" and "No" for Town Hall bonds shall be deposited in box labeled "Town Hall."
