She will likely be able to walk some in a few more weeks. Her friends here are regretting her accident. ****** Mrs. W. H. Howell recently visited Petersburg, Va., where her husband W. H. Howell is now engaged in business. Mrs. Howell returned Monday and has been confined to her bed since. It is hoped she will soon be out again. * * * ? The work of reindexing the records at the office of the Clerk of the Court is now nearing completion, at least up to recent years this work has prov ed a great saving in time and a search of the records is made much more simple and easy to understand | on the part of the uninitiated. m * The sale of crops advertised in another column to be made from the farm of L. H. Burroughs on December 4th will be held at the Horry Tobacco Warehouse instead of the Town Hall. The things to be sold will consist of a lot of corn, fodder and other produce. On the 19th day of November, some time in the evening of the same,! the death angel claimed little Inez! Hinson, the little bright faced child of1 a little more than five years, the, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hin-1 son. She had only been sick for two orj three days. She seemed to be taken, with a sudden cold, perhaps mem- j braneous croup and was soon so she could not talk. The doctor came, but j could do nothing, as the Lord was, calling the little girl home. All that, kind neighbors and friends could do { was done, but its little soul took its| flight. She was their only child and it seemed like they could not give J her up. Although so hard fov them > it was little Inez's eternal gain for she is sleeping with the blessed in Jesus. She was brought from where she died at Egypt Bay, S. C., to the family burial ground near Tabor, N. And then there are the field' and water sports, which w 11 go on every' day from almost sunrise to sunset and even at night when the city and the battleship fleet will he lighted with the rays from hundreds of searchlights, making Charleston by night even more brilliant and scintilating in her holiday garb than Charleston by day. The field sports include every variety of athletics, football, basketball, races of all kinds and other games concocted especially for the occasion by an able committor which has the matter in charge. Sightseeing trips for the visitors are being talked of, and both tho street railways and tho tracks of tho terminal company will be requisitioned for this purpose. _ The plans for the amusement park are the most elaborate of anything ever staged in the South. There will be acres of free attractions, and the shows to which admittance is charged will be about the only amusement to which a visitor will be asked to pay. Visits to the battleships will be free, as will the field and water sports and the Sightseeing trips as well as open air dances and concerts. o S.
