He was a clean, brighteyed little fellow who suddenly asked: "I can get a car for Metlway here, g can't I?" " I told him that he could and the question helped us to "get acquainted." We began to talk and presently I asked: "Do you go to Sunday school ?" "Yes, sir," was the reply, and then he added with his eyes fairly shining, "and father goes, too!" He said it in such a spirit of exultation that I asked: "You like to have your father go, do; you ?" 4 "Of course! We go together. It's lots nicer than it was going* alone. One of our neighbors who belongs to a big class of men got father to go once and ho has been going ever since". He hasn't drinked any since he began going and he says he isn't going to ever again. So of course 1 am glad V he goes and so is mother. Gregg: on 3rd Avenue for the pdst two months under the name of "Gregg^ Market" closed up last week and will not be operated any longer. * * * * * The residences of Conway are more and more being supplied with private Water works systems. The more of this is done the harder it will be to vote bonds for the purpose of putting in a general public system. This matter demands the closest study and investigation on the part of.the health authorities. Electric lights have been installed it the Planters Tobacco Warehouse, making the large floors just as plain in the night as in the day time for all practical purposes. Stables have been erected for the taking care of the farmers' teams who patronize the warehouse. Arrangements have also been made to take care of the farmers at night. The sales open every day promptly at 10 o'clock. The farmers can come in the night before if they care to do so and Mr .Bowles will see that they receive attention.?adv. The Board of Registration for Horry County will meet at their office at the Court House on ldth and 14th of August to 'register the voters and close the Registration Books, thirty days prior to the election as the law provides.
