THURSDAY MAY 20TH, 191 5 War is nothing but wholesale minder. o The showers come in time for the strawberry crop. o World peace would sound mighty good at this time. o Good will count for nothing in the business of some men. o Experience is a dear school but its lessons are lastingly impressed. o One necessary thing in all kinds of accumulations, is to have and hold. o Preventive measures are better than cures, but they must be taken in time. o Let America run from entanglement in the European war, like a man would run from the plague. o Wrong doing always places its penalties upon the innocent and unsuspecting, either directly or indirectly. rAMU, WV>1 ^ YY CELEBRATING OCR FIR! &Y 11, 1914 ILY 11, 1914. Steady and persistent blows are what carry great powers. Make yourself a member of the firm with close application, patience and perseverance. The result will be success in your undertakings. o The tobacco farmer who will sue ceed this year is the one who will study to give his crop the attention and care that it needs to make a line leaf. o President Wilson is a great man and his knowledge is broad and varied; but he wanted to know what public opinion was on the sinking of the Lusitania. o Practical experience is the best thing yet in* any calling. Previous study and training will help much, but they are worthless without practical experience. L'UUIIU J.NOI inC keeping* of credits let out to others, but a strict account of receipts and disbursements if nothing more. o A tobacco crop needs the closest attention from the time the seeds are placed in the plant bed to the time that the finished product is brought to the warehouse floor to be sold. o j Many a farmer has sold his farm and moved to the town, only to move back to the country before long. And the pity of it is that in some cases they have to move back to some other man's farm. If you own a farm keep it and live on it. This is the best way. o Often a man is taken up and brought before the court for the commission of some crime, and he is convicted and sent to the public works for maybe a term of years. He leaves | a wife and a half dozen little children at home without any means at all for support. Who is it pays? CANDIDATES CARDS.
