Out of the many defendants before the court last week charged with the violation of the dispensary law,there was not a single one who contested his case. They all said they were guil ty. D. Hoyt McMillan, Esq., rotf Mullins, S C., was in attendance upon the court hero last week. Attorney P. H. Sellers of Dillon, S. C., was here during the first days of the court last week attending to matters before the Judge. Many people remarked last week that there wery many more cases before the court than there had been for several terms past, and perhaps more than had been for several yeara. The grand jury was kept at work for four days, and they were apparently busy in pasing upon bills of indictment during all of that time, except what little time it took them to make up their final presentment. Just what this state of affairs would indicate is more than anyone tried to explain. Judge J. W. DeVorc left Conway on the early morning train last Friday , having remained in Conway for the first four days of the week winding up the immense amount of criminal business that came before it.
