Last Saturday night some thief
s tried to steal the Ford touring car of
, A. B. Elliott. At a late hour he left
it standing on the outside of the shop
j near the Horry Tobacco Warehouse.
Some time late that night the party,
a colored boy, who was trying to
^ make ofT with the car, ran into the
. fence at the residence of Mr. J. W.
v Taylor on upper Main Street. As
c some one came out of the house after
hearing the racket the thief broke
away and ran. The car was considn
erably injured by its collision with
the fence.
Mr. W. H. Anderson has been very 4
ill at his residence in the Adrian sec- ;
2 tion. He received an injury while
1 alighting from the train at Adrian
1 about the middle of August and had
to go to bed the next day. His arm
was very painful and for a. time his
physician expected to have to take it
off. Later is was decided that the
wound might heal. At last accounts
^ Mr. Anderson was improving to the
delight of his many friends, but his
arm was still in bad condition.

covered from one end to the other
