Even in love affairs which as
a rule concern only two people, the j

curity, while their whole record is as
plain as day and is read by even the

While the tobacco plants all over j
the county were generally injured as
well as thinned out by the snow last ;
February, still the farmers managed
to obtain enough plants to get out a
fairly sized crop, and those acquainted
with the situation now say that the
crop will be nearly as large as ever.
Just as we stated several years ago,
time has proved that Horry County
will forge to the front as one of the
leading tobacco raising counties of
South Carolina. From one little ware
house erected at Conway in 1898, the
number of warehouses now in the ,
county has increases to seven. The
acreage planted year by year keeps
on increasing. l lie time is not far
distant when this county will be '
ahead of any in the State.

Among all the uncertainty and
tribulations attending the course of
politics in this State during the past ;
several years, there is one fact that
stands out as plainly as the noon-day j
sun, and that is that the people have

Road Bond Election.
The election recently held in Floyds r
township for the issuing of road r
bonds was passed upon by the County
Board here the first of this week and i
was declared in favor of the bonds.
Opposition to the movement has developed
in the township it seems and
some irregularities have been reported
and may lead to a contest over the
election. The election was held under
the provisions of a new act of the Leg
islature passed at the 1914 session.
This is the first time the provisions j
of the act have been brought into '
play. A synopsis of the new law was '
published in this paper some weeks
ago.
