SEND US ALL THE BEST NEWS. That Which is Too Frivolous, or Cal' r culated to Cause Trouble, Leave Off. As our readers all know, we want the important news from every sec- : tion of Horry County, especially from those points where the farmers are clearing up new fields and making i improvements, and from the towns where new life has taken hold for a ' ijgyteor and better county and a happier and more contented people. But let us advise our correspondents of every kind, that it will be necessary i to leave off the items that arc so I so frivolous that it would make a y lazy mule shed tears of mirth, or j | those items about the boys and .their best girls, that the ones immed- 1 | Tmtely concerned don't care to see in print, either from embarrassment or other causes we need not mention. If there is an item that would be interesting to the gossips of the neighbor- J [ hood but appear ridiculous to the gencral mass of our readers, please leave 1 flht out, because we will have to cut it ( out or mark it out with a blue pencil ( ff before the copy reaches the typeset- ( luting machine. * Keep the interest of 1 the paper and its general run of readU ers in view as well as your own pri- , I an(l dislikes, and you will I ^produce letters that will be wanted j I and that will do good. With the above cautions in view we ; will thank those who formerly wrote news letters for the miner, if nmu '!'? continued, to take it up again, and those who have not been sending in jatiy news we hope will decide to do | [f *so now. We are in position now to print all of the news from every sec- i tion of the county, and wo will do it if you will get the news fur us. Alcohol in Fruit Juices. By a recent decision of the departA ment all fruit juices to which alcohol j# has been added must plainly he labeljj(^ cd to show this if they are to he ship |V ped in interstate commerce after f September 1, 1914. In the opinion of the department, such names as TVcach juice," "Cherry juice" should applied only to fruit juices which are unfermented and which contain no added sugar, alcohol, or other substances. In the past alcohol has frequently been added as a preservative to these preparations which are used for such purposes as flavoring beverages or preparing cordials. After September 1, however, goods that do I comply with the new ruling and I indicate this fact on their labels will be denied entry into this country, and if found in interstate commerce will b' subject to appropriate action by the authorities. It looked during the first week that we should have but a shadow and myth of a campaign for the Senate, but the opening meeting for the second week of the Senatorial candidates' tour promises better. The Governor began to warm up to his work. and the Mayor of Sumter, who is making a pretty strong impression upon the people of the State by his vigorous work on the stump, put across some good shots. But the best evidence of the enlivened condition was in the appearance of the first bouquet of the campaign, presented to the Governor. It makes no difference wh0 got it, but the fact that it was given counts for a good deal. When the bouquet stage is reached the spirit of the campaign is in the air. The passage of town ordinances requiring the payment of a license for the privilege of carrying on business therein or to follow some profession, has been common now in the towns and cities of this country for a number of years. Experience has proven in some places that the license lees in small towns are the means of handicap on the man of small means or limit ed ability, and in some cases the license laws have ben a drawback rather than a help, for while taxes were gained in one way they were lost in another. Often it has been the case that some useful business was caused to pull up stakes and move away to some place where the conditions were more favorable. This matter of the license laws should demand a good share of the attentinn of the town boards everywhere. It is easy to copy the same license ordinances year after year without giving the matter the rsrious and open discussion that it deserves, and without making the changes in them that the changing conditions of the town or city would require. Farmers on the costal plain of South Carolina should remember at this season the value of the soy bean, which is one of their best friends and which appears to be specially adapted in all ways to that region. Every wheat grower in the country who suspects that his crop has been infested is requested to send his name to the Department's Bureau of Entomology at Washington, D. MAKES RHEUMATISM I PROMPTLY DISAPPEAR Chronic, Crip pled-up Sufferers Find Relief After Few Doses of New Remedy are Taken f It is needless to sufier any longer with rheumatism, and be all crippled up, and bent out of shape with its heart-wrenching pains, when you can surely avoid it. Rheumatism comes from weak, inactive kidneys, that fail to filter from the blood, the poisonous waste matter and uric acid; and it is useless to rub on liniments or take ordinary remedies to relieve the pain. This only prolongs the misery and can't possibly cure you. The only way to cure rheumatism is to remove the cause. The new discovery, Croxone, docs this because it neutralizes and dissolves all the poisonous^ substances and uric acid that lodge in the joints and muscles, to scratch and irritate and cause rheumatism, and cleans out and strengthens the stopped-up, inactive kidneys, so they can filter ail the poisons from the blood and drive it on and out of the system. Croxone is the most wonderful medicine ever made for curing chronic rheumatism, kidney troubles, and bladder disorders. You will find it different from all other remedies. There is nothing else on earth like it. It matters not how old you are, or bow long you have suffered, it is practically impossible to take it into the human system without results. You will find relief from the first few doses, and you will be surprised how quickly all your misery and suffering will end. An original package of Croxone costs but a trifle at any first-class drug store. All druggists are authorized to sell it on a positive moneyback guarantee. Three doses a day for a few days is often all that isi ever needed to cure the wprst backache or overcome urinary disorders. NOTICE OF SALE.
