Schaas and four sisters reside.
Some months ago the red light district
was run out to McDcmons Hill.
Hater the grand jury presented tindistrict
and they were given sixty
days to shut up shop. They did so
only to return to their old haunts in
North Florence. Yesterday afternoon's
tragedy will no doubt result in
further action being taken against
the disreputable houses.

Wilms and D. D. Dehoen. A means
was found by which the blood can
be excluded from two lobes of the
heart, the right ventricle and the
right auricle.
Another experiment of equally as
much value was made by which it
was found possible to shut olf the
supply of blood as it leaves the
heart. The subject of the experiments
was a dog. Moth of the discoveries
wore made by pressure upon
veins and arteries. In both instances
forceps are pressed over the tubes
so that not a drop can pass the point

Ml*ST SIGN FELL NAMES.
As Appears from a Dispatch from
GaO'ne.v, S. ( ., ( oncrning Club Rolls
Gaffney, June 3 8.?Special: A large
number of people who have signed
the club rolls of the Democratic party
will have to sign the rolls again, as in
many instances they have only signed
their initials or one name. The con.
dition arises in spite of the fact that
the carious secretaries were instructed
to have igneis sign their full
names. It i$ surprising1 to know' that
numl ers of people resent having to
sign their full names.
W. P> Chestnut, a member of the
firm of \7. 13. Chestnut & Co., was
sick for several days last week and
detained at his home on lower drd

the later part of the week.
