is no unusual thing to see
men contending in the criminal
courts, one trying to force the other
to pay a debt by means of criminal
proceedings. The practice is severely
condemned by the better thinking
men of the time, for it leads to con\nnpfc
for the criminal laws.
?O?
The worst sort of a punishment
for the non payment of a debt is to
stop the further credit of the debtor.

cannot ba oompelled to pay. The

Wheo it s understood just how
little attention some men pay to their
daily work or business, as the case
may be, it is not strange that there
arsscsutny in the world with hardly
| a sufficient amount of the bare necessities
of life, let alone some of its
actual comfort* andlnxuries, Ther*
HBsSfeT.
is a class of men and women who
have never and understood the
meaning of ihe proverb which runs
to the effect that he who puts his
hand to the plow and looks back will
find thegranery short in harvest time.
What calls this idea to mind was a
remark made by a business man not
long ag\ A tobacco farmer had
called at the business man's ?tore
that day and the business man asked
the tobacco farmer if the recent snow
had destroyed his tobacco plants,
dust before that the business man
had usee tained from conversation
that this farmer would have no crop
this year at all except tobacco, and
that he would be dependant oil this
one crop for all supplies. When
asked if the snow had destroyed the
plants, the farmer replied that he
had not seen the tobacco bed mi thro
weeks, and he did not know whether
his plants had been destroyed or not.
This shows the way in which many
men, we are sorry to say, act through
out their Lves. This habit of care
lessness and shiftlessness has been
practiced by a good many we know
until it is hardly possible to move
them even though their horn s are
burning down over their heads.
Still that kind of a man will come to
town and wonder at the busy work
of others, and even get mad if one
has to put him off in order to attend
to some important business. Uegenerally
thinks that all men have the
same amount of idle time at their |
[disposal as himself, and he can find j
no reason in his mind why everybody
can not stop for a quarter of an hour
to talk to him. It is a very unfortunate
thing, and hook worms are not
altogether responsible for it either

Tone if You're Dissatisfied.
Conway Drug Co., may not be will
I ing to guarantee the safety and reliability
of calomel for constipation
and sluggish liver, but this store
will and do stand back of Dodson's
Liver Tone with an unconditional
guarantee to refund the full purchase
price (50c.) instantly without question
if you are not satisfied in every
way with Liver Tone and its results.
If you take calomel, perhaps you
will seem to get temporary relief,
but it often happens that the afterelTects
are at least unpleasant and
sometimes dangerous. Calomel in
largo doses is a poison and actually
deadly to some--perhaps to you and
hence its use means taking
chances.
With Dodson's Liver Tone you
are always safe. Its reliability is so
certain that it can bo sold with the
money back guarantee. It is a vege
table liquid, pleasant to take, and it
cannotharm. 11 cleans up the dulled
and aching head and cleans out the
clogged system in what many have
found to be a wonderful way. Dodson's

what it has done for thousands and
you run no risk in trying it.

Catron, Ky.?In an interesting letter
from this place, Mrs. Bettie Bullock

years, with womanly troubles, and during
this time, I could only sit up for a little
while, and could not walk anywhere at
all. At times, 1 would have severe pains

that, nothing seemed to do me any good.
1 had gotten so weak I could not stand,
and i gave up in despair. g
At last, my husband got me a bottle of
Cardui, the woman's tonic, and 1 commenced
taking it. Rrom the very first
dose, 1 could tell it was helping me. I ?
can now walk two miles without its
tiring me, and am doing my work."
If you are all run down from womanly
troubles, don't give up in despair. Try
Cardui, the woman's tonic. It Has helped
more than a million women, in its 50
years of wonderful success, and should
surely help you, too. Your druggist has w
scld Cardui for years. He knows what w
it will do. Ask him. He will recommend
it. Begin taking Cardui today. ^
