THURSDAY, FEB.. 19tn, 1914.
A bout the hardest thing in every
community is to get the people
together on any ono subject of the
pubic good,
- O ?
Conway is always coming to the
front. Early this year two trust
companies have been organized and
me now m operation.
? O?
Business has taken on a new start
since the new year came in. The
amount of business done at Conway
increases year by year.
?0
No matter what the movement is
that is intended for the common good
of the community, there wi.l be
found those who will oppose it without
i h) me or nason.
? O?
Strawberry growers are in goot
hc\rt. As the weather has beei
fayorable so far they firtnb
believe that good seasons will contin
ue for the coming haivist,
? 0Now
is the season to ? e more watel
fill than ever of matters pertaining
to the public health. The summe
season with its dread of typvoid w il
be here before loner. Clean tin tin

The ac cage of tobacco h.8 beci
increased thisyear without a doubt
Some of the farmers are afraid th
market will beoversupplied this year
Thtre is a great demand for the lea
that is raised in this section of th
county for it goes into making ciga
retts the consumption of which i
gieatly increasing.
?O ?
Still the city is without wate
works and sewerage, while othe
towns of the same size have thes
modem conveniences. But we ar
glad to be able to say that steps ar<
being taken to make this improve
went. While theefforte being pu
?
forth at this time are rather slow
>til! there is strong hope that before
the year goes out; there will be some
thing definite.
? O?
t/uUging from the sales of f? r t i 1 i zers
and tobacco canvas for covering
beds, the acreage of tobacco in this
county, this year, will be considerab
y increased, Tuking onetiim in
the sales of tobacco canvas, as compared
with the sales of last year of the
s.itne at tick, Burroughs and Collins
Company, last year sold for the entire
season only three bales. Up
to several weeks ago that linn had
sold seven bales and it was stated !
that the eighth b de would he sold out
by that night. '1 hey had already or
dered three more bales to finish out
the trade for the season, and when
these are sold the total sold by the
(inn this year will beeltven. Other
linns make good statements as to the
increase oyerlasf year. It is stated
though on good authority that i helot).tcco
fanners are sow ng larger
bedsthisyear for the same amount
< f ac? rage in home instances, as they
want to be sure to have plenty of
plants for setting the crop. But the!
increase is not all taken up with
I this idea. There is lo doubt but
that the Conway market will sell a
much larger <juantiiyof tobacco this
year than ast. The prices obta.ned
for the wud last year has contributed
its share toward increasing the acreage
planted. Some of the farmers
who planted lasi year will plant
more this year, and there are other
farmers who never plan eel the weed
before, who will besu.e toengage in
it this vinr. The cutkok for a sue
cessful year in the tobacco raising
industry is very bright inched.

Burton, Under the

Houston, Texas.?In an interesting
letter from this city, Mrs. S. C. Burton
writes as follows : "I think it is my duty
to tell you what your medicine, Cardui,
the woman's tonic, has done for me.
I was down sick with womanly trouble,
and my mother advised several different
treatments, but they didn't seem to do
me any good. I lingered along for three
or four months, and for three weeks, .1
was in bed, so sick 1 couldn't bear for
any one to walk across the floor.
My husband advised me to try Cardui,
the woman's tonic. I have taken two
bottles of Cardui, am feeling fine, gained
15 pounds and do all of my housework.
Friends hardly know me, 1 am so well."
If you suffer from any of the ailments
so common to women, don't allow the
trouble to become chronic. Begin taking
Cardui to-day. It is purely vegetable,
its ingredients acting in a gentle, natural
way on the weakened womanly constitution.
You run no risk in trying Cardui.
It has been helping weak women back to
health and strength for more than 50
years. It will help you. At all dealers.
