at noon Thursday, January first,
when Mr. John Capers Woodward
of Pinetta and Miss Mary Prince of
Oreenville were happily married,

church, performing the impressive
ceremony iu his usual degree of
dignity and ;graee. By choice o
the contracting parties, the wedding
was a simple home affair and only
the immediate family of the bride

The happy bride is the older and
accomplished daughter of Mayor and
Mrs. J. T Prince of Greenville, and
for her lovely disposition and rare
personal charms is very much ad
mired by a largo circle of friends.
The fortunate groom is the eldest
son of Mr. and Mrs. VV. J, Woodward
of Pinetta, whore he has been
engaged in business for some time,
and has many friends who'congratulate
him upon winning such a fail

Conway Ledge No. 90 Knights of
Phytbias, went to Loris last Wednesday
evening, where on Wednesday
night, they installed anew lodge
at Loris.
The right of way has been cut out
for the new road to Myrtle Beach
by way of the new steel bridge
through tl e river swamps leading
ru t tt the high land at what is called
the red hill, But the remainder of
the work is getting on slowly. Still
the public will expect the promises
t"> be kept good to make the road
passable out to the highland by
December 1st of the present vear.

She was born December the 19th, i
1910, and died December the 25th, :
1918, at the Burroughs Hospital. e
where all was done that could be ]
done to stay the icy hand of death,
but God knew best and took her to ^

Death of Lizzie Thomas.
The death angel visited the homr
of Mrs. Ellen Thomas and took from
us our loving si. ter. She was tweity
years six months and nice days old.
She had not been in very good healtl
for two or three years but did noi

died Jan 9 h. She left her mother
