H. YV. Mishoe of Gurley, and one
of the leading business men of that,
place, visited Conway last Friday
on business.
W, T. Lay, one of our good friends
living across the Waccamaw, where
the mails are hard to get, was seen
on our streets last Saturday.
A horse belonging to a Mr. Altman
ran away on Main street last
Friday evening but no damage was
done fui ther than a slight injury to
the buggy be was drawing.

At last accounts the committee
appointed to raise subscriptions for '
liquidating the Mithodisi church

committee has not been idle, and
has done very effective work.
Solicitor L B. Singleton was tak- '
on very ill at the home of his father
in the Pee Dee section during the
holidays, and he remained thi re
more than a week in bed. Ha was
improving at last accounts, and was
able to return to his cflice the latter
part of latt week. ,
W. K. Hamilton will still run the
phi t .graphic studio on 3 -d Avenuo
next door to the Town Hall. He
had decided to give up Conway as a
location for a while, but has changed
his mind, and his son will keep
the studio open at this place again j

Several of the surface closets in
rear of tbo business buildings on
Main btreet, were torn down and removed

to the health and sanitation
of this portion of Conway which
is most densely populated during

For some time past the county
has been unable to pay its bills.
Claims against the county have
bten standirg for a long time now
at.d many people have been put to
inconvenience. It is the result of
circuimticces beyond the control of
the county board, and which will
be t x plaint d as soon as the data can
be compiled for publication.
K. D. Lewis, the thriving young
jeweler, bas now completed some extensive
ac ditions to the interior of
his j *v\e'ry store. The ecjuipment
of new and modern furnishings has
been made with no small expense
Among the improvements, none is
