The sixth annual convention of the Horry County Sunday School Association, convened here in the Methodist Church last Saturday morning, and the attendance which was rather small at the opening metting. increased materially by afternoon, and at the close on Sunday there was a large congregation present, and all seemed to be enthused with now zeal and ardor in the work of Sunday School. The feature of Sunday morning's service was the address of Miss Grace W. Vandiver one the subject of "A iBan ner Sunday School." As was stated last week, there were contl e?ing stories told through he county concerning the fact* in the facts in the killing of L. C. Answer: "The boys come on this way first, cursing and trying to fight." Dr. A. D. Lewis, being sworn says: I find on examination on the right arm, upper 2 8, a llesh wound, uot skin deep-deft side on fine of lower border shoulder blade a pistol wound where ball entered and ranged forward and downward on liue with lower part of heart which caused his death. Ellii West, being sworn says: I lived on Mr Stroud's place. Burroughs Stroud and John* Hooks shot him to death. Burroughs shot twice and John shot twice at Mr. Stroud and one time at me.. The boys came by my house cursing. Mr Stroud started to get in his buggy and they cursed him. Mr Stroud said he would go out and see what they were cursing and trying to fight about. He did not fall from the first two shots. The shooting was done aoout 10 yards from where he fel1. Tie coroner's jury consisted of Moses Hodge, C. 0. Bullock, John Hill, Bud Neeley, Melvin Harrelson, Elije Lewis, Dave Strickland, W. E. Jolly, Rafe Wilson, D. Grainger, S. V. Causey, Charley Page. They returned their verdict t> the effect that the deceased came to his death* by a pistol in the hands of Buiroughs Stroud and John Hookf. The inquest was held by Mr. C. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Wardens of the Town of Conway in Council assembled: 1, It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle within the limits of the Town of Conway without first displaying upon the back of such vehicle, in a conspicuous place, the name of the County or State in which his certificate of registration is filed and also the number of such vehicle, which name number shall be yisiole at a reasonable distance as required by tlie Statutes of the State of Souin Carolina. 2.
