Special emphasis will bo laid on agriculture und to that end handsome prizes will be offered for tho best exhibits. Cheap round trip rates have been granted from all points in South Carolina. Lovers of football will attend tho great Clemson-Carollna game Thursday, special arrangements having been made to seat several thousand persons. This is a year of prosperity in South Caroliua and the State fair in a great place for the citizens of tho Stato to moot and renew acquaintances. In fact, a year in this State is not complete without a trip to tho fair. Sixteen counties will send tomato club exhibits to tho fair and a num- j ber of prizes will bt offered for tho best display. The exhibits will be under the direction of Miss Edith Parrott, State agent for tho tomato clubs. L). F. Etird, secretary of the fair, has secured a number of clean and attractive shows for tho midway. A band of 12 Indians will give performances free daily. I On August 15bb, 19111, the death I aDgel visited ihe home of Mr J. F. Gore and bore the spirit of our dar ling mother, tors Ella R Gore away. O i, how our hearts ached, not only ours, bul the whole community wa.-> saddened and heart-broken at her untimely death. Mama was sick only a short tim? but bore her illness with christian fortitude. She war a loving mother and dutiful wife and a good neighbor. She will bo missed by her acquaintances at large. She was bom Decernbor 17th, 1809. The mother of twelve children, ton of which survive her. Two infant* preceded her tj tho grave. Mama connected herself with the Methodist church very early in life aud lived a consistent christian until death.
