The man or woman who is busy at work has no time to make complaints about the weather, nor to listen to such complaints us others have to make. If those who complain would get busy with what they have to do, they would soon bo cooled by honest sweat, and they would not have to search out the soda fountains to find a place where thoy can air their grievances and cool their heated bodies. * * * It is a mistake for a farmer who has spent the best years of his life in builuing and improving his place to sell or rent it out and move to the town. The old plan of having a chaperone is a good ono maybe, At least it is the best thing to make the folks at home /eel eays. But there is so much depends on who is selected to lill this position, and there are so few fit for the purpose who will accept the trust, that this plan has very many disadvantages to begin with. About the best rule to follow is to be careful who makes uy the crowd with whom your son or daughter will be thrown while away during the spending of the vacation. If the wrong ones are '* the party then keep yours out, Or il you can possibly go with the children and watch them yourself, b\ all means go with them and by keeping the proper look out, no harm will come to the morals or social standing of the boy or girl. Your correspondent has been all over Simpson Creek township. The corn crops are fine. Cotton crops are very much off, at least one half. There are a few peanuts planted. The roads are in very good shape, except the bridges. A sand\ bottom is better to cross than a rot ten bridge.
