American Bible Society
Rev C. P. Snow of North Carolina
is traveling through Horry I
County now as colporteur of the I
American Bible Society. He is sell- J
ng bibles at actual cost, and where- )
jver he finds a family too poor to J
ouy a Bible he gives them one. lie <
will be in this county for a month or <
two yet. <
While in the county ho leaves a i
supply of bibles at the Kingston <
v.-* t a ri a \ t
r uruiture otore wnere any porson '
can buy them from Mr Goldfinch.
So if you don't see Mr Snow person
ally you can get the Bibles you need
there, and at cost.
The American Bible Society is an
organization supported by the Baptists,
Methodist, Presbyterians, and
yarious other churches to supply the
world with Bibles. These Biblos
are sold at actual cost. No merchant
can buy them and make a
profit on them. No agent is allow
ed to make a profit on them. The
churches who support the Society
believe that God's Word should be
provided for the people as choap a<possible.
Every few years a colpor
teur is sent through every part of
the United States as well as many
foreign lands to supply people with
Bibles, and especially those homes
that have none. Mr. Snow has found
a number of homes in the county
where there was no Bible.
Of course if you want Bibles with
special features in them, like red
letter editions, etc., you will have
to buy them from merchants and
agents, and at a higher price. But
if you simply want the plain Bible,
the American Bible Society has just
what you want in almost any style
of binding and size of type.
Sometime before August 1st stop
in the Kingston Furniture Store
and see the fine line of Bibles which
Mr Snow has there. He has already
sold several hundred dollors worth
of Bibles in this county.
