Death of Oswcll Todd
Near sunset iu the afternoon of
Tuesday the 5th day of April, l!)i:? a
sad gloom was cast over the hotuu of
Mr. and Mrs. R. P Todd, near
Hickory Grove church, and every
heart was filled with sadness at.d
svery eye with tears, when God
sent his death ungeldown to take to
Heaven the precious little spirit of
their darling littlo son, Oswcll Lias
jerry, usweil was only two years
ind seven months old. lie was a
Kood little boy and his br:ght faco
will be missed in many places, but
most of all in the home of his dear
father and mother, where he was so
much joy and pride. Mother and
father will miss his company. His
little sweet voice is hushed and his
little feet is siilled forever. Once
before,^about three years ago this
same sad Room was east over this
home, when God called to Heaven
their only ltltlo son, Oscar and
after his death little Oswell was
born and was only spared to live
with them just a few months longer
than little Oscar was, and God saw
best and called him to rest with htm
and ttow little Oscar and Oswell is
waiting and watching at the beautiful
gate for papa and mama and
little baby sister, and all who wish
to meet them there. Dear Oswoll
leaves a father, mother, one little
sister Mary, one grand-father,' one
grand-mother sntl six aunts bosides
a host of relatives and friends to
mourn his departed soul. His bMy
was laid to rest tho following day in
the Hickory Grove burying ground
I B Chestnut conducted the burial
services and prayer. It was
hard, oh, so hard to give h:m up.
He was taken sick about o weeks
before he died, Oswell sv I cd what
no tongue could tell, yet. it was al
most liiart rendering to ,-ivo him
up. God saw best and took him out
of his suffering. It. is sad to think
and know that we will never see
him, or hear his loving voice on this
earth never no more, but yet he will
never be forgotten, aud may God
help us to meet him around the

While his body is sleeping in the
church yard Oswell is resting in
heaven, embraced in Jesus arms.
