He was buried the following day at Poplar, The buri 1 .-ervices were conducted by Rev. E. F. Scoggins and Rev. A. D. Bjtts. His health had been failing far some time, but for the last six weeks of his life he suffered dreadful ly. He felt sure the end was near, and had been trying to prepare him- , self for the great change. Ho spent most of his life in North Carolina, but came here from Lake Wacca- i maw, N. At times he had misfortunes and discouragements, but never gave up as long as hi could go. He looked on the bright side of things and worked hard to support his family. He was very fond of music. He had been a violinist since quite young and played with a soft sweet touch that only few posess. What he loved most of all were the sweet sacred hymns. He loved nature, more than any man I ever knew, and enjoyed going in the woods and by the river look ing at the forest, gathering ilowers and hearing the birds sing. He looked at all this as being wonderful I and beautiful beyond expression. He was a good neighbor. Ever accomodating and unseliish. He leaves a wife and one six year old boy, who are now at Adrian and one brother of Enfield, N. C. He was a kind loving husband aud a devo ted father. We miss him so much but trust he is resting with Jesus, and we hope to meet him again some happy day where we will hoar sweet er munc than made by any mortal man. One That Loved Him.
