The Winter during the old year
was very mild. There was just
enough rain, and but one light snov>.

than usual in the first of the Winter
owing to the absence of frequent

plant for your crops of 1913. The
seeds you plant should have been selected
by you from the very best
and thriftiest plants in your last

but save the cjtton seed for next
year from the best plants in y; u *
crop this year, and take the best
stalks of corn and save the best
grains from the best ears to plant
your next crop. In this way you

course of a few years, one that your
neighbors will want and will perhaps
be glad to pay you for.

Several years ago a bill was pass,
ed providing for the transcribing
and reindexing of the old records in
the tfliceof the clerk of the court.
Before the bill was passed, the grand '
jury had recommended, it, .me ard j
time again. Any person wno h; *
bad occasion to look up some old re'i
cords knows what a task it is with
the court records in their present S
condition. Then there are half a
dozen old indexes to ik through,
covering a nuierent period, and
some of these are missing, and hav
beon for m ny years. The new wor T

many of the old books, and the mak- ^
ing of a single set of indexes cover- C
ing all of the records of deeds and G|
mortgages from the time the office ^
was established until as late as 1900. ol
