Anderson (nee Holmes) was born May 25tb, 1855, and enbered into eternal rest September ?3rd, 1912, The last years of her life had been one of sickness and suffering, but her faith in God was sure and i steadfast and she soemed more than J anxious to leave this world which, to her, was one of sorrows and trials. At the age of 12 years she professed faith in the Lord and she continued in that faith until hei j death, at which time she was a member of Maple Baptist church Many years ago she married Mr. T A. Anderson and to them eight children were born, four of these proceeded her to tho grave, the four still living being her two sons John T. and G. Cleaveland and her two daughters Mrs. E. L. Moore and Mrs, Pearl Jones, all of whom reside near Allen, this county. We extend our sincere sympathies to the bereaved family and commend them to the Great Father of all who doeth all things well. Dearest loved one, we have laid thee, In the peaceful garve's embrace, But thy memory will be ever cherished, Till we see thy heavenly face." T M T U I 11 . v . The University of South Carolina last year generously offered to such communities in our State as desired it a course of University Extension lectures at nominal cost. The various members of the faculty act as lecturers and they present a great variety of subjects, and many r I the lectures are illustrated. The lectures, while not devoid of humor, are predominantly educational and instructive. Such a course of lei tures will meet a great need in any cummunity. In offering this course the University has shown rare wisdom and a generous public spirit. The management of the Conway Public Library is arranging to have the University to serve us through these University extension lectures, It is planned to have at least five or six of these lectures during the coming winter. The first lecturer will be Dr. Josiah Morse who holds the chair of philosophy and psychology. no will be here on Friday night, Nov, 1st, His subject will be ''Education and Citizenship." Those who know Dr. Morse say that he is a very fine speaker, and it will be a rare treat to have him in Conway. The admission will be 25 and 15 cents, and the lecture will be delivered in the Burroughs School auditorium, Everyoody should attend. Proceeds above expenses will go to the Public Library.
