the public library is oper. regularly
every af ernoon from 4:30 to (> and
every night, except Saturday n'ght,
from 7:30 to 9.
During last winter 100 books
were taken out each month, and
this number should be greatly increased
this fall because the library
now has over 1,000 books, This enlargement
is the result of the consolidation
of ine Burroughs School
Library with the Conway Library
through the generous order of the
school trustees.
According to the terms of agreement
with the school trustees the
Conway Public library is open to the
free use of the teachers'1,and pupils
of the Burroughs school. They will
not have to pay a membership fee,
and yet they can take out books as
freely a? a member of the Library
association. Persons who ore not
members of the association, and not
connected with the Burroughsschooi
are required to pay 5 cents for each
book taken out. But any one can
read books and papers in the Library
free. Everybody is subject to aiine
if he keeps the book out over two
weeks.
Less than fifty have Joined the Library
association. The membership
fee is or.lv $1 a year. We hope
that all our eitizous w.il drop in the
? library and?pay the librarian $1 right
away and thus become a member of
thi association that controls the Library.
Even if you don't use ti n
Library much you will help alorgan
institution of great value to our
community.
