Owing to the frequent removals
made by some of our subscribers
residing in oiber counties and in
other States, and leaving accounts
at their old addrosses, which we
have not been able to collect, we
have recently decided to tfive all
subscribers residing and taking the
paper out-side of llorry County,
notice in due time, that we will be
compelled to discontinue ail such
who do not renew their subscriptions
promptly, and keep their accounts
paid in advance. There are

But if we are going: to make
a rule, we will have to enforce it

amount to pay up all of your
back clues and a year in advance.
In this way only can we continue to
send you the paper. We will say
further that we are making large
and costly additions to our plant,
and we need all the money that we

day, though considerably warm for
the good work .
Tne Carolinians in and near
Amoricus assembled togethor with
all kinds of good tilings to eat at the
beautiful park near Americus, and
had a fine picnic. There were about
three hundred mostly Jones men if
they had been in South Carolina.

The Indian Runner duck is not inclined
to fatten so readily as other
varieties.
Rigid culling is absolutely necessary
if you would keep the flock in the
best shape.
Ducks as a rule are hardy. They
do not have gapes. The weakest part
of a duck Is its logs.

As an article of diet, if provided by

mustard, aloes, or red pepper will help
to break up (ho unfortunate habit.
Turkey eggs may be hatched In the
incubator very nicely, but unless you

get enough fresh eggs to fill a machine.
The meat of yarded poultry ig alway*
more tender than that of
fowls having free range, due to the
extreme muscular development of tho
latter.
It requires about four geese to
make a pound of feathers. Picking

that has been discontinued In this
country.
It is estimated that it requires the
feathers from about ten ducks to make
a pound. The sale of which Juat
about pays the cost of dressing the
fowls for market.
A plant of Swiss chard sown adjoining
the poultry yard will supply
greens all summer, provided the
fowls are not ullowed to eat it more
than an hour a day.
Ingenious Old Sea Clock.
The most popular form of old Bea
clock was the sandglass, whloh greatly
resembled the present day egg
boiler. Many of these glasses ware
timed to run 24 hours, and prior to the
ship leaving land the glass was set exactly
nt noon. If it was carofully
watched and turned as soon as the
sand ran down tho skipper could
reckon the days with fair accuracy.
Structures Have Proved Lasting.
Tho moat distinctive manifestation
of old North German architecture
takes the form of a heavy framework
of timber filled in with well-baked
brick, the timbers remaining visible.
Structures of this kind have stood the
test of time on roil often marshy and
yielding, and in the co.untry districts
this style Of building Is still followed.
