Happenings Around Lake Swamp
Dear Editor: We are glad to note
some progress in our church work.
Our Sundaj' school meets every Sunday
at 10 o'clock a m , and it is under
the superiuteodcncy of Mr D L
Holt.
The Daymen's Missionary meeti
g held here on a recent Sunday
*nd conducted by W A Prince, was
a grand success. Although the
weather was very inclement a large
crowd met us. At the close of the
lecture an offering for foreign misdons
was taken amounting to $6.00
After a short recess the congregation
re-assembled in the house to
witness the ordination of J T McCrackcn
as a deacon of Lake Swamp
church. The Presbytery consisted
?f the pastor, Rev M A McCracken,
and Deacons W A Prince, of Loris,
J W Cpllins, of Gethsamane and
Albertf Dawsey, of Antioch. The
ordination prayer was led by W A
Prince and the Bible was presented
by the pastor. We then listened to
a good sermon delivered by the pastor.
At the close one applicant
came forward for baptism.
