Aynor, S. C., are now running a
large ad in the Herald: They are a
progressive firm and will succeed.
Sunday was a charming spring
day, and automobiles were out in
full force, their inmates immensely
enjoying the pleasures of a joy ride
The Rev A S Doak was absent the
latter part of last week in attendance
upon the sessions of the Pe<
D80 Presbytery which met at Tim
monsville.
* Magistrate Daniel Grainger was
reported last week as being still
very ill at his residence near Homewood.
This is to the regret of his
many friends,
The work on the new cottage of
Geo F Nissen is rapidly going forward,
and this will be a nice dwelling
when completed.
Mr J J Seals, has located at Gaston
Murrell's, about four miles east
of Conway, on the Whiteville public
road, where he will engage in the
mercantile business.
R M Prince and E W Prince, both
of Gurlev. S. C., and leading busi
nes6 men of that section, visited
Conway on legal business the middle
part of last week.
J W Sparks is now making balusters
spindles and other mill work
for use in buildings, at his shops on
Beaty Street. The shop is turning
out some very pretty work.
Miss Saba Doak will be in Conway
t about the first of May, and while

The Ladies' Missionary Socia'y
of the Baptist Church and that of
the Presbyterian Church were the
guests of the Ladies' Missionary So!
ciety of the Methodist Church at
I its annual meeting, last Thursday
afternoon. They were charmingly
entertained at the hospitable home
of Mrs Adda Burroughs, on Snow j
Hill. During the afternoon dainty!
refreshments were served under the i
wide spreading branches of the i
loyely live oaks which grace the i
well kept grounds of this home.
We are obliged to call on some of!
our subscribers who are in arrears, j
to come in and pay us at least & \
good portion of the amount now on
the books against them. The winter
is over and truck is coming.
We see no reason why some of them
should not seud us in their dues. It
is a small matter to each of them
but all of tho small amounts when
put together will make up just what
we need to conduct our business on
a reasonable basis.
