THURSDAY. MARCH 17 1912,
The grounds around about our
magnificent union passenger depot
are in a deplorable condition.
Besides being salesday and All
Fool's Day, the court or uornmou
Pleas for Ilorry will convene on
April 1st.
Mrs A W Barrett, and her bright
and interesting It tie son; have returned
to Conway, after a pleasant
visit abroad among relatives and
friends.
While working around the engine
at the Conway Iron Wot'Ks, Charlie
Dozier had the misfortune of losing
the ffrst joint of his fore fiuger on
his right hand.
The month of March is drawing
near a close, and there is not a fruit
tree in bloom. This is a phenomenon
perhaps uever before witnessed in
the recollection of even the oldest
inhabitant.
The many friends of Mr W II
Chadbourn will be shocked and griev
ed to learn that he is desperately ill
at his home in Wilmingtou, with
little or no chance for his recovery.
Our information is that the hlack
wings of the angel of death are en
shrouding his bedside and that hi>
passing away is a matter of a short
time oniv. Mr Chadbourn has beet
a warm and valued friend of Conway
and has done a great work toward
the development of the resources of
{ Horry?a greater work than any
one man, perhaps. Through tin
providence of God should his life he
spared yet a season we have reason.1
to believe that ho will do greatei
things along this line for Horry
H is name is a household word ulc
his presence is ever welcomed ii
many Horry homes on acocout 01
the sunshine and happiness he has
brought into them.
