An entertainment was given at
the Dot ban High School Wednesday
night before Thanksgiving. It
took three hours to carry out tho
program, still the audience did not
seem to grow the least tired. The
expression of appreciation at its close
were highly gratifying to those who
had labored so faithful in its preparations.
The instrumental solos and
duets wore not only a credit to the
music class, but to their very eflicient
teacher. The comic part of
the program which was a new venture
seemed to be especially attractive.
Mr C C Bland spent Wednesday
night at Mr J N Cox's He came up
to the entertainment and took his

Miss Bessie Baldwin left early

where she will spend Thanksgiving.

Will Mr Holliday Enter the Race for
Congress??Other News Notes.
| Miss Mary Oliver recently spent a
a week with us.
Mrs A M Dusenbury spent Thanksgiving
at Greenwood with relatives
and friends.
We think that Gov Blease did
right in not issuing a proclamation
advising farmers to hold their cotton.
The reduction of the cotton
acreage and making more "Hog and
Hominy'* is the best solution of this
problem,
This writer interviewed Hon Geo
J Holliday in reference to the rumor
that he intended making the race
for Congress next summer. 4tIf it
is made apparent to me that it is
the wish of the people that I enter
the race, I will certainly do so," said
the ex-Senator. While Senator from
Horrv Mr Holliday made many
friends throughout the State and
is regarded as one of the most ef
fective stump speakers in the State,
and should he enter the race for Congress,
he will make an interesting
campaign and undoubtedly will be a
