C , while at a fishery near Myrtle Beach last Sunday, was shot five times by J) C Johnson, four of the shots taking1 effect, ami causing injuries from which the negro may die. Mr Johnson was walking up the strand nearly a mile from Myrtle * Beach, near the fishery of M Ii Nance who was in company with Johnson. Before arriving at the place where the shooting occurred, they heard the report of a pistol several times, and as they came nearer saw four negroes standing together in a group. The people of Bucks and Conway townships voted practically solid for Supervisor Murrell in the last campaign believing that he would, if elected, he the ri^ht man lor the place. But there is certainly no improvement, to the road leading from Scarborough's farm to Conway. Just what turn will he taken about this matter or how the super visor will explain his failure to fix this road is not known, but if what the people are say in# can lie taken as a promise the conclusion will unquestionably follow that the place will #o almost solid for some one next election, but just who it will be can't oe said at this time.
