During the past week the intense v heat has gathered many immortal soul into the great store house of death in many cities of the country The following is the death record ^ of a day, July 5lb: 0 In B>stou, Mass., forty deaths p in Now England. ^ Up to midnight of July 5th thirty- ? six deaths were reported in the u metropolitan district of New York, t In audition there was a large num- a ber of prostration from heat. ? The death toll in St Louis was ^ alarmingly heavy, a Twenty-nine perished from heat in Philadelphia. ^ Thirty persons lost their lives ri from heat in Chicago. ,j The murcury reached 114 degrees- tl in Kansas City and there were six* S W teeu prostrations and one death. jr Three deaths and twenty-one V( prostrations is the record for Balti- ec more.
