place iu the Herald to reply to "Tar
Heel", of North Carolina.
In last issue ' Tar Heel" said
the trial of Mrs Hayes and her husband
should be with the past. Any
one with any knowledge at all knows
the murdering of Sovereign ti M
Floyd and the trial of his slayer are
things of the past, but the memory
of this deed will ever be fresh, no!
onlv in this Camp but iu Horry,
South Carolina, and many other
States. No other county or State

an icy cold heart. This woman
claims her honor has been assailed,
but we will never believe that it was
assailed by Robbie Floyd. Robbie
never led such a life in Irs early
days and sure);' he didn't later.
4'Tar Heel" says Robbie knew
Mrs Hayes was a married woman
and that he should have stayed away.
If "Tar Heel" doesn't know why
Robbie went to the Hayes's we will
get some of his neighbors to tell
him, or rather show him the letters
Mr and Mrs Hayes had written to
him (Robbie) urging him to come
and treat those angry moles on
Rosa's face. The letters were print
ed in several papers. Wo know
Robbie didn't profess to be more of
a friend to the slayer's husband than
Hayes did to Robbie, it seems *o
from tho way Hayes treated him at

"Tar Heel" says Robbie should
not have helped to desecrate any
scan's fireside. Robbie never helped
to do this, nor did he shatter the
ties that binds Mr and Mrs Hayes.

In Mcmoriam.
Tho death angel visited the home
of Mr Marvin Booth cu February
2nd, 1911, and took away his loving
wife, but the Lord knew best and
took her to live with him and the
bright angels above to greet us when
we go hence. Uer remains were
laid to rest at Poplar church the
following day by tender, loving
hands. The funeral services wore
conducted by her pastor, Rev E L
Scoggins.
She was born May 19, 1882, and
was the eldest daughter ef Mr and
Mrs George Thornpkins.' She was
married to Mr Marvin Booth February
the 7th, 1904, and thoy lived
happily together until she fell as'eep
in the ar ns of Jesus. She joined
the church in early life and wis
happily converted to God and remained
a true Christian until her
death. She leaves a husband, fath
er, mother, two brother, one sister,
two half sisters and a large circle
of relatives and friends to mourn
their loss, but while we mourn we
feel that it is her eternal gain. Dear
Sister, your place here on earth
cannot bo filled, your bright face
and precious smiles are gone and
you are waiting for us to come to
you and we intend by the grace of
GLd to join you* happy band. She
was sick a loDg timo and suffered
what no tongue can tell. We know
she is through with the trials
and troubles, the sufferings and sor
rows of this sinful world. She has
suffered her last pain and is now
sweetly resting in the arms of Jesus.
May glorious sunbeams always kiss
the soil that covers her last resting
place, and thro the encircling gloom
of night may stars shine keeping
their virgils above her grave. We
cannot wish you oack, but we will
meet you in the sweet bye and bye
She bore her oftl'clions$with Christian
fortitude and as the shades of
the evening of life began to gather
and grow thicker we can recall that
sweet rememberance of the dear
one gone before.
