Orren Soles, being duly sworn,
says:
I was on Front street by the depot
at Tabor, N C., on the night
that Robert Floyd was shot and
hoard the pistol shots. I saw Mi
and Mrs Haves at their gate after
the shooting; there was no one then
except these two when ChesterWatts
and I got there; Watts asked Mr
Hayes wh it is the trouble; he said ht
reckoned there * was a dead man in
the house. Watts asked if he cared
if he went in aud he said no. anybody
can go that wants to. Mr
