On account of a break in some
part of the machinery, the Conway
J.ninbor Company has shut down
uutil it can be repaired which will
tie in about two weeks.
Gocrge 13ary, whito while working
at his saw mill near Flomewood,
- one day last week, had the misfortune
to get caught in the machinery
losing his thumb and two fingers.

preliminary trial, in the case against

the public and we trust the commis

The annual Missionary Institute
of the Methodist church for Marion
District was held last week in Marion.

were in attendance from this coun
ty. They report an unusually delightful
and profitable session.
Quite a number of p?ople of thivicinity
went to Wbiteville Tuesday
to be present at the preliminary
hearing of Mrs H ives, charged with
ihe murder of R M, Floyd, and Mr
Ha\es and brother, charged with
heirgaccessories to the murder before
the fact.
The outlook for a good fruit crop
this year is somewhat discouraging
The unseasonable warm soell of
weather we had along in January
caused the peach trees to bud and
many trees are now iu full bloom,
and the probability is that they
have bloomed only to be killed bv
the cold weather which is said to be
yet before us.

Hayes and Lloyd Hayes, charged
with the killing of Robert M Floyd.
They were among quite a number of
citizens who went from this county
to hear the case.
At the church conference last Sunday
of the Conway Methodist church
the Treasurer reported $26!) 00 paid
on current expenses and $260 00
paid on the new cb oh, mawing a
total of $620 00 raiseu thus far tb>
year. And this docs not include
the societies in the church which
will report later. Altogether this
ohurch is making a most encouraging
progress for the now year.
