Death of Mrs Jeremiah Smith.
Died.?Mrs Eli/.ibeth J Smith was
born in Newberry, S C., in July.
1842, and dird at Conway, S Cn November
14, 11)10
Mrs Smith was married three
times. At theatre of about 15 years,
at her girlhood home, she was married
to Mr J icob Long. To this
union one child was born. The
other two marriages were childless.
She e.meto Conway in January 1881
to liv< with her daughter, Mrs E M
Ogilvie and some several years after
she marri- d Mr Henry IJardee.
After his death she married Hon
Jeremiah Smith, who together with
hor only eh Id, Mis Oglvie, five
grand children and seven great
grindchildren, survive her.

her lovely character and her kindness
of heart, won for her a large
circle of warm friends and the esteem
and respect of the entire community.
Her ears were never closed
to the apoeals of the suffering aid
alllictcd, and her hand and hear'
were ever ready to respond to the
call of humanity.
When the news of her death was
announced last Monday morning at
9o'cl'Ck, it was received with profoupcl
sorrow and genuine regret
by the entire community And friends
hastened to the assistance of the I
bereaved family with otFers of help
and words of sympathy and com
fort.
The funeral services were held it.
the Methodist church, of which
she was a member, on Tuesday at
11 a m , in the presence of relatives
and friends, and were conduced by
her pastor, the Rev G E Edwards,
assisted by Rev A S Doak, pastor
of the Presbyterian church, the impressive
ar.d beauiiful|burial service
of the Methodist church being used.
The following were the pall bearers:

L. B Singleton,
Charley Marsh,
Paul Quattlebaum,

All of whom at one time or auother
boarded with her.
The interment was in Lakesidi
ceme ery, the floral offerings being
numerous and beautiful,
